Orange Goodness!

the Buttercup Sisters are overdue, way overdue for an update, and nothing like NOW to get that done!these days they pretty much keep to my room, because they don’t get along with Merry, and enjoy their life there very much!  everytime i go into the room, i feel like i’m visiting two little women from back in the jane austen times.

ok my editting skills need a little help...but you get the point!

Charlotte is the caretaker of the two.  she’s the one to invite you in, poor you tea, and listen to troubles while giving you advice.  well…this translates more into washing your face, which she does so often for her sister, Shyler our resident pooch, and even me.

it’s more then just bathing tho, Emily always lets Charlotte eat first.  i never really new who was born first, but i would hazard a guess that it’s Emily based on her behavior.  granted, i could be wrong.

Emily’s middle name is Sunshine (Emily Sunshine Buttercup).  everyday as soon as the sun hit the window, she’s up on the ledge enjoying it.  her middle name actually from the previous place we lived in where we had very tiny windows in the bathroom and she would perch in them, curled up, and would even spend most of the day there even after the sun was gone “activity watching”.

Emily may be a caretaker, but she’s also a closet kitty partier.  she LOVES her pink mouse!  her little squeek has been around for ever, and if you quietly sit in the bedroom-specially at night-it’s only a matter of time before Emily starts her “dance”; playing with her mouse.  she picks up the mouse with a claw and sends it flying, then pursues it!  she can get so worked up, it’s almost like watching her do a dance!  i have tried getting pictures or a video, but as soon as the camera comes out, she stops.  she is just way too wise!  someday i’ll catch it!

emilyplayedtwhere Emily is the caretaker, Charlotte is to be taken care of.  she loves to be cuddled n held, petted and loved.  that’s not to say that Emily doesn’t, Emily is just more independent.  everytime i go into the bedroom, there’s Charlotte right at my feet, demanding for some attention and to be held.

floofy Charlotte

floofy Charlotte

akin to the famous with paparrazi, Charlotte DOES NOT like cameras, whatsoever-granted like alot of kitties, but she will let you know so there is no question about how she feels.

get that camera outta my face mom!

when she sleeps, she curls up into a tight little ball, resembling an orange, hence her middle name is Orange (Charlotte Orange Buttercup).  n like her sister, Charlotte is even more secretive of her playful side.  they have a ball chaser that when activated, sounds bird chimes, and late at night you will hear it go off.  on occasion, you might catch Charlotte lying next to it, watching the bowl go around n around and occasionally poking at it, but once she’s aware you’re aware, she stops.  now don’t get me wrong, both this girls will play with you when you stimulate them such as with a feather toy, but as far as taking initiative themselves, that appears to take place “in secret”.  like the english ladies of Jane Austen, such behavior wouldn’t be considered “proper” but which they also can’t  help but to indulge! lol

Charlotte also is a chatterbug.  enter the room and she accompanies me with a string of vowels, and “comments” on everything.  whether it’s an actual meow, or mumble, or sounds of some kind strung together.  it’s really entertaining.  going to the water?  Charlotte chats all the way there and back.  Needs a snack?  oh she’ll tell you or whoever might listen!

whatisitedtn the need to be taken care of?  if left in a room for too long by herself, Charlotte will call out for someone to come keep her company-call out from a room with the door open no less.  In her “soft” way, she loves to be the center of attention and isn’t one to be able to stand long periods of isolation alone.  of course the isolation might be remedied by her moving to a different room, but as far as she’s concerned, we should come to her!  i think this is another reason why these two girls don’t often leave each other’s side.  i can’t imagine them ever being split apart.  the sisterly bond is strong.

oh to be greeted with such an orchestra of purrs when visiting these two.  ahhh the orange goodness!
